1. Create Bonding Opportunities

The first thing on our list of 5 Tips for Having a Man of Honor or Groomswoman in Your Wedding is to create opportunities for bonding among everyone that's in the wedding. For example, you can host a game night to make sure your friend gets familiar with everyone. The key is to host activities that are not gender-based and to make them feel comfortable.

2. Getting Ready for the Wedding

If you are having a bridesman, he may not want to spend time with you and your other girlfriends getting your hair and makeup done. However, be sure to include your bridesman in other activities taking place in the bridal suite such as lunch and drinking wine or champagne. If the groom is having a groomswoman in the wedding consider having her get ready with all the other women that are in the bridal party. You want to make sure your photographer gets them in all of the photos.

3. What They Should Wear

When deciding on the attire for your bridesman or groomswoman make sure that what you choose fits in with what everyone else is wearing. A good example of this would be to have the man of honor wear the same colors as the groomsmen but include a tie or shirt with matching socks that will coordinate with the other bridesmaids. The best woman, on the other hand, can wear a dress the same color as the bridesmaids but just in a darker hue.

4. Walking During the Processional

Another one of our 5 Tips for Having a Man of Honor or Groomswoman in Your Wedding involves the wedding processional. During the processional, the bridesman should walk down the aisle with the bridesmaids and stand on the side of the bride. Maybe consider not having the bridesmaids and groomsmen walk arm in arm but rather alternate with one groomsmen walking down the aisle, then a bridesmaid, and vice versa just to make sure everyone is comfortable when walking down the aisle.

5. Gifts for Man of Honor or Groomswoman

Gift-giving to the wedding party is a tradition. It is where the newly engaged couple gives those in the wedding party a gift to show their appreciation for being a part of your wedding. Some couples host a dinner when asking their friends and family members to be a part of their wedding and give the gifts at that time, while others may give gifts on the morning of the wedding.
