1. Consider the Price

First, on our list of 5 Tips on How to Choose Your Bridesmaids Dresses, is the price. If you or any one of your girls have been a bridesmaid before, then they already know that bridesmaids pay for their own dresses. When shopping for your bridesmaid dresses, be sure to consider the price of the dress. Try to choose something that's not too expensive but yet stylish at the same time. Keep in mind that your bridesmaids are also on a budget and still have to buy jewelry as well as get their hair and makeup done.

2. Consider Mismatched

You don't have to have every bridesmaid in the same dress anymore. That's why mismatched dresses are on our list of 5 Tips on How to Choose Your Bridesmaids Dresses. We like the idea of not having everyone look the same but instead making the bridal party more interesting.

3. Let Them Choose Their Own Dress

You can't make the "wrong choice" if you allow your bridesmaids to choose their own dresses. Who best knows their style, right? Another plus to this one is that they will automatically choose a dress that is within their budget. Also, more than likely they will choose a dress that they can wear again. This puts your mind at ease and relieves some of the stress when it comes to making a decision for the entire group.

4. Choose Something That Flatter Their Figure

Consider the shapes and sizes of your girlfriends that are going to be a part of your wedding. Maybe choose a bridesmaids dress that will complement their skin tone. As a matter of fact, choosing a color with different shades for the different ladies is totally hot right now. Other things to consider when choosing a dress that's flattering to the figure are waistline, neckline, sleeves, or sleeveless.

5. Consider the Fabric

When it comes to fabric, the type of wedding you're having plays a role. For instance, if you are having a more casual wedding, then you may want to choose a fabric made of jersey or chiffon. But if you're looking for more of an elegant or glam look then you should consider fabrics made of sequins and satin. Another thing to consider is the time of year your wedding will be held. Dark colors and heavier fabrics like velvet are for winter weddings. Lighter colors and fabrics like chiffon would be perfect for weddings held during the spring and summer months.
